OUR STORY

What Motivates Us

We are a small, non-kennel, breeder of Yellow Labrador Retrievers located on Tampa Bay in St Petersburg, Florida. Our goal is to produce dual purpose labs that are both true to type in the show ring and built to perform in the field. Our dogs live with us, play in our yard, swim in our pool and the bay, play with our children and grandchildren and are all around loving, intelligent companion animals.

When I was younger, I had Labradors for over 20 years but never showed or bred them myself. I was looking for a companion for my last lone Lab and came across a newspaper advertisement for two offered together. I recognized the kennel name:  Belquest. Long story short, I purchased them both and decided to breed Belquest Splash of Covergirl. On the advice of a number of Florida breeders, Splash was bred to Am/Can CH Aquarius Centercourt Delight ("Buzz") who was Westminster Best of Breed 2006.

This breeding resulted in SALTY DOG OF TAMPA BAY, pictured below. Salty finished his championship in record time at 15 months of age. Then at 22 months of age, Salty took Westminster Kennel Club Best of Breed 2007!

Over the years we have had numerous Champions and titled dogs in the fields of Obedience, Hunt, as well as the show ring.  All in all this has become a tremendously rewarding experience, and our Labradors have added to my own and others' lives tremendously.
